Dear EV-ites, I have a query
My goal is power, from a rail, an electric cart to as high a speed is possible with these entry-level elements.
I want to run an electric cart (go cart size) over a rail. I want to supply 110 AC / 15 AMPs to the cart from the rail, then to a (on-cart) 110AC to 48DC converter, through a 48DC / 1000 watt speed controller, to a 48V electric motor. I have seen the controller and the motor on this site but my ignorance prevents me from identifying the AC to DC converter, if such exists. My ignorance also extends to me not knowing how the amperage is going to figure into this setup.
My goal is power the electric cart to as high a speed is possible with these entry-level elements.
I am soliciting the identification of the needed elements and advise on circuit design.
